Things to Do when on a Pigeon Forge Vacation
Is there really a rule book on what you’re supposed to do in Pigeon Forge when you’re visiting us for a vacation? Yes, and it’s a strict “have fun” rule book. Gone are the days where the American dream focused on the basic unit of society, and that is its family. Before, our values and all our actions and effort were directed into giving the best for our family, ourselves and our country. However, the things we did were not just centered on generating more and more income so we can do whatever we want, whenever we wanted. It wasn’t limited to buying the best things on the market and having a fat bank account.
I genuinely believe that we have lost sight of what is really important. Earning well is not a bad thing, and neither is it something to be avoided but we must not forget that our well-being and our family’s welfare should be our top priority and it should be second to none.
This is one of the things we have to do on our Pigeon Forge vacation. We are to assess if we still have the right priorities. If not, we must reconsider rearranging them and reset our mindset. Our relationship with our families and loved ones, our health and our values must never be compromised.
The Things You Do During a Pigeon Forge Visit to Help You Reset
If you keep doing the same things over and over again, nothing will change. There is a need to get out of your comfort zone and allow yourself to just let everything go so you can get a bird’s eye view on things. People think that a vacation is only one way to relax and burn cash, but if you play your cards right, you’ll get so much more than that. You can have a life-changing moment from a simple break.
This is one of the many free things to do in Pigeon Forge. Getting in touch with nature is more than just getting some eye candy. Remember, nature represents life. This life has a purpose, and it’s not only to make things beautiful but to remind us that what is beautiful is often taken for granted.
Some of the trail hikes you can try can be at Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Wear Farm City Park, Patriot Park, Camp Riverslanding or Rocky Top Wine Trail-Mountain Valley Winery. You can also simply go sight-seeing and ride sky lifts to admire the beauty around you. Actually, anywhere you are you can get a glimpse of the beautiful views of Pigeon Forge. A lot of our board and lodging also offer scenic views from your rooms.
These activities may seem very simple, but they can also encourage you to get some exercise. You won’t feel like dragging your feet because the things around you will undoubtedly mesmerize you enough that you won’t mind all the time you spend outdoors. If animals are your thing, you can see them in their natural homes or visit our petting zoos and have safe interaction with them. This way, you can appreciate the fantastic creatures entrusted unto our care.
Try Something New
They say that the only constant thing is change. However, the thing is, most of the time we’re afraid of change. We’re so scared of trying out new things because we might fail and we don’t know what the outcome will be. What we don’t know is that, by pushing our limits, we are actually strengthening our determination and training ourselves to be resilient and adaptable to change. We will be able to handle better new things life throws at us like unfamiliar circumstances that bring about stress. There are many new things you can try at Pigeon Forge.
Things you can do that is only exclusive to the city itself like riding a zorb ball, watching a lumberjack show, get precious stones from Miner’s Gems and see for yourself cave formations from 200 feet below the ground at Forbidden Caverns or Tuckaleechee Caverns. Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover something new about yourself that you didn’t know.
Learn New Things
Since Pigeon Forge is so rich in history and culture, it’s no surprise that you’d learn a thing or two about history in almost all of the historical landmarks of the city. Almost all the local attractions have a story to tell and a lesson to teach the new generation. Aside from history, you can also learn about animals, plants, food and get your hands working again with some awesome crafts. I know a lot of people who discovered their passion later on in life. Some of the things you can try learning here are:
- Creating Baskets
- Forging metal
- Authentic Smoky Mountain Broomsticks
- Learning about Photography
- Wood Carvings
- Polymer Clay Workshops
- Pottery Classes
- Glass Blowing
- Creating Candles
- Copper Art
- Making Bath Products
- Playing Musical Instruments
- Creating Leather Goods

- Learning How to Paint
Awaken Your Sense of Adventure
A lot of adventure awaits you in Pigeon Forge attractions. You can get out of that stump with thrilling activities like doing long and exhilarating zip lines, go on white water rafting adventures along Pigeon River, go way up and ride aerial trams, indoor skydiving, rope courses, and giant coasters. A lot of these activities will show you the best places to see in the Smoky Mountains. A quick adrenaline rush will help you feel recharged.
Tickle Your Funny Bone
There’s nothing like laughter to cure all your blues and worries away. In Pigeon Forge, you can laugh your heart out by going to comedy plays, funny museums and just having plain old fun with your family with all the activities and shows you can try out with them. It’s funny how simple conversations can turn into a world of laughter if you just give your family time and undivided focus.
Reasons for the Things You do on a Pigeon Forge Vacation
You weren’t given this life just to make money and buy things with it. You were blessed with this life to experience it and to share it with the people around you. Do not get sucked into the system of trying to get everything and losing yourself in the process. You need to give yourself time to rest and relax and clear your mind. You need to take time and enjoy spending time with your family because every minute you spend with them is a gift you’ll never get back.
You need to help yourself every step of the way, and there’s no better way to do that than to have a break physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Get in touch with the truth of where your life is at and if it is still on the right track. You can also take this time to be thankful for the support of the people you love and to be grateful for the many blessings that you receive every day. If you just focus on what you have and not what you don’t have, I’m pretty sure you’ll realize that the best things in life are free indeed.
