John Sevier who was the first governor of Tennessee in 1796 was one of the founding fathers of Tennessee. Not only was he one of the founders but he was also an American soldier, politician, and a frontiersman. He is buried in Knoxville, Tn. which you can visit his grave at the courthouse lawn. He was instrumental in the beginnings of this area in Tennessee and named for the city of Sevierville.

With so many family memories, she has never forgotten her city. Her generosity is genuine and, when they had the Gatlinburg fires, she was there to donate to families that lost everything in the Great Smoky mountains in 2016, which some might not know this about her.
